WHOIS Lookup
See who registered a domain, when it expires, and whether it's protected.
What does all this mean?
This tool shows a domain’s registration details - who registered it, when it was created, when it expires, and whether it’s protected - using RDAP, the modern replacement for WHOIS.
What is WHOIS / RDAP, in one minute?
Every domain has a registration record: registrar, creation and expiry dates, and status flags. RDAP is the structured, modern way registries publish it.
Most personal details are now hidden for privacy (GDPR), but the operationally important parts - expiry and lock status - are public.
Why expiry and transfer lock matter
A lapsed business domain can take your website and email down and may be snapped up by someone else.
A transfer lock (clientTransferProhibited) stops an attacker from moving your domain if they breach your registrar login. Turn on auto-renew and the transfer lock.
Why is the owner hidden?
Since GDPR (2018), most registrars redact registrant name, email, and address from public records. That’s normal and not a problem.
